Which PLG course is best for me?

PLG Introductory Training Course
17 - 19 March 2008
8 - 10 October 2008

PLG Advanced Training Course
9 - 10 June 2008

The PLG ITC
The PLG Introductory Training Course is primarily aimed at those persons who are relatively new to business development and licensing or who are seeking to move into business development from another discipline. This course also works well as a refresher as it provides a comprehensive overview of the key functions within business development and licensing. The ITC is the training course of choice for new entrants in BD&L for many major pharma and biotechnology companies.

The course covers the fundamental elements in Business Development & Licensing. Each lecture is given by a senior person with a faculty of more than 12 experienced business development practitioners. In order to ensure relevance to the business role, the lectures are inter linked by an interactive case study which puts the theory into practice as students work on a deal from beginning to end. The student numbers on the course are limited to a maximum of 20 to enable a high degree of interaction with the faculty and the other students.

In addition to new entrant to BD&L, this course has proved valuable to those who work in larger companies in Departments which work in close liaison with the business development and licensing team; for example in Market Intelligence, Project Management or other fields. The ITC course runs twice a year in March and October.

The PLG ATC
The PLG Advanced Training Course is aimed at those persons who have been active in business development for a year or two, this course builds on the basic elements introduced the Introductory Training Course and develops the concepts further. With a stronger focus on case studies, there are more interactive tutorials than the ITC allowing for more personal tuition. The ATC course runs once a year in June.

The PLG MSc
Designed specifically for those people who wish to gain a business development and licensing qualification the MSc course has a separate module for each of the basic fields. Each module comprises some 200 hours of study and secures CPD points allowing for in depth study of each subject. Successful completion of three modules secures a certificate; successful completion of six modules merits a Diploma. Six modules plus a 60 hour project will secure a full MSc qualification. As with all PLG courses, there is extensive use of interactive case studies to ensure relevance to the day to day working life of the business development executive. Each module is expected to require four months study for completion. Enrolment is possible at any time of year. Further information can be found on www.plgmasters.com
